YOUR TUTOR: PETER HEATON
All the Vale of York Darkroom's courses are taught by Peter Heaton BA (Hons) MA
Peter is a tutor with more than twenty five years teaching experience in colleges, where he has taught across a wide range of courses up to degree level, covering both traditional and digital photography
In addition to his teaching commitments, Peter has continued to exhibit extensively since 1987. His work has been featured in many publications and on BBC Television. Peter also has examples of his work in private collections in Europe and America.
From a Fine Art background his interests are now directed towards the creative amalgam of traditional chemical-based photography and digital imaging. Peter has been the recipient of many photographic awards and commissions
Peter was the winner of the National Trust /Kodak ‘Vision of the Trust’ national photographic competition, a winner in the Xerox Print awards, was shortlisted in the Canon Digital print Awards and the recipient of two Yorkshire Arts production awards. He has led workshops in many Yorkshire venues, including York City Art Gallery, Beverly Art Gallery, Rydale Folk Museum, and the National Railway Museum.
